What does "signature burned into the PDF" actually mean? +

When a user signs your form using MakeForms' signature field, that signature image is embedded directly into the generated PDF at the pixel level — not stored as metadata, not referenced as a separate file. The final PDF is a single self-contained document where the signature visually exists in the document body, exactly like ink on paper. This is what makes it defensible for legal use.

Can I use a PDF I've already designed with my own branding? +
